The Murray Whisnant Residence is a notable example of midcentury residential design in Charlotte.  Awarded a 1970 American Institute of Architects Merit Award, and later featured in the 1974 Architectural Record magazine, the home remains a favorite with design enthusiasts. Unusual architectural features include two sets of I-beams that span both sides of the house and support a stunning, cantilevered deck. The house is situated on a hill and feels like a tree house, with soaring views that take full advantage of the natural beauty of the site.  For parking, drive past the house and turn right on to Rosemary Lane and park past the house on Rosemary. You can also park on the adjacent street that intersects Rosemary.
